Half Time Bar on Ecorse Road is the kind of spot where the local crowd gathers after work or on weekend evenings for affordable food and uncomplicated drinks. The vibe leans toward a straightforward neighborhood bar—nothing fancy, but with a familiar, lived-in feel. The lighting can feel a bit harsh and the seating is more functional than cozy, which suggests this is a place for grabbing a quick bite or a few drinks rather than settling in for a long evening.

One of the real draws here is the food, especially the burgers. With options like the Bacon Swiss Mushroom Burger and classic cheeseburger served alongside crispy fries or fried pickle chips, the menu sticks to bar favorites without overcomplicating things. The quality feels fresh and the prices lean towards budget-friendly, which locals clearly appreciate. On the drinks side, you’ll find standard bar staples including Miller Lite, Blue Moon, Corona, and a few mixed drinks if you’re looking for something more than just beer.

Service here tends to be friendly and attentive, with some praise going to both bartenders and kitchen staff alike, including newer cooks who have stepped up to deliver on the basics with solid results. The bar keeps a casual soundtrack going, sometimes a little louder than some might prefer, matching the low-key, no-frills atmosphere.

Half Time Bar is especially well-suited for anyone passing through Taylor needing a quick, inexpensive bite or a laid-back spot to unwind. Those visiting late afternoon or early evening on weekdays might avoid the busiest times and get a chance to chat with regulars or the staff. While it may not be the place for a relaxed date night or long weekend hangout, it fits well as a straightforward pit stop with straightforward tastes in food and drink.

Angela the bartender was amazing. The cook was new and did a phenomenal job. We got a smorgasbord of food because it was so cheap and it didn’t disappoint.

Food was excelant as well as service . I just did not like the lighting at all. They need to change that because it is very annoying and made me want to leave as well as the seating needs to be more comfortable to make me want to stay. Because the burgers were a great price and fresh and tasty as well as the fries and onion rings. Maybe get a great cold slaw going and some good desert. But if you want an amazing burger at a great price this is the place to go and i had mine with bacon lettuce try it out you will be pleased.

Half Time Bar has inexpensive drinks and $0.95 burgers. Definitely worth a pit stop on the way to or from the airport. A true locals’ place with loyal customers. The burgers are good!
